Background:
Ruth M. Abankwah is a lecturer in information, archives and records management in the Department of Information and Communication Studies at the University of Namibia, in Southern Africa. She obtained a PhD in information studies, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Botswana, a Masters in Archives and Records Management from the University of Botswana, and BA Social Work and Administration from Makerere University, Uganda. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests are in audiovisual records, electronic records, and public sector records. She has vast experience teaching in public and government institutions in Botswana, Namibia and Uganda. She has also conducted records management consultancies in various government and private organizations in Eastern and Southern Africa.
