Welcome to Oshakati Campus

Introduction

The Campus is strategically located in the town center’s Eliander Mwatale Street, off the Main Road C46, next to the Oshakati Independence Stadium. We are within a walking distance to the Oshakati State Teaching Hospital, Hotels, and Restaurants as well as to the major Shopping Malls in Oshakati. This location makes the campus less of an ivory tower and its facilities more accessible to the communities that we serve.

The Campus has well-equipped laboratories with internet facilities that are accessible to students 24 hours a day. Video and teleconferencing facilities are common practice at the Campus, allowing specialist lecturers to teach students pursuing postgraduate programmes, from the main campus or anywhere in the world. The Campus Library is not only a hub for intellectual engagement and development, but it serves community members pursuing their studies elsewhere and has also been declared a national legal depository library.

Facilities & Stats

Home to a student population of more than 1200 students, the campus provides ambient space for studying, by offering students various lecture halls, rooms, and labs to either read or do practicals.

Although relatively the oldest satellite campus, the Library is mostly for health sciences students who are the majority on campus, but also serves all other Faculties of the University irrespective of the mode of offering (full-time or part-time), and boasts some of the latest books in various fields of studies, as it also operates Teaching Hospital Library at Oshakati Hospital, and provide mobile Library Services for Medical students at Onandjokwe Teaching Hospital. Wi-Fi internet connection is available in all buildings and open spaces.

The Campus is very close to the Oshakati Independence Stadium for its sporting events and activities. In terms of security, the campus access points are monitored by well-trained and experienced guards, with strict control on who enters or leaves the campus.

Within the Science Foundation Building, you’ll find laboratories for Natural sciences disciplines. The campus also hosts a well-equipped computer lab, for computer students teaching and practice on campus

Other facilities include a Tuckshop/kiosk which provides affordable services and products to our student community.
