LIBRARY SERVICES
The ILRC is a national resource centre that enhances information access and use throughout Namibia. Comprising the University Library, Interactive Multimedia Services (IMS) and an Instructional Design Unit, it is equipped with the latest information and communication technology (ICT) and offers facilities such as Internet and e-mail, word processing and printing, interactive video-conferencing, multimedia access and use, and training in the use of ICT for information access and database and web page design. Various venues can be booked for group activities such as training, meetings or seminars.

The University Library offers a range of technologically enhanced services, complementing the open shelf, reference, special, and archival collections. Different membership categories extend privileges to students, staff, other institutions and members of the public. Extension services include branch libraries at the UNAM Northern Campus in Oshakati, Ogongo and Neudamm and core collections at eight UNAM Regional Centres. These all benefit from connectivity.

The Library has benefited from a generous donation by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation that has enabled it to acquire the state-of-the-art Millennium System. The system gives more search options, improved circulation, cataloguing and security amongst other features.
