The University of Namibia's BA degree programme which allows students to take a Visual Arts major complementary to other humanities and social science subjects is unique in the region. The appeal of this option and of the market related emphasis in the Visual Arts Curricula is demonstrated by the increasing number of students from throughout the SADC region choosing to register for Visual Arts courses in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
